Mahesh (FCA) qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 with Rees Pollock, a firm closely connected to Ernst & Young. Post qualification, he moved into industry, heading up the finance function in the SME sector.
Background
Mahesh has always had a strong interest in property, and in 1995 bought his first buy to let investment in partnership with his university friend, Hiten. Whilst both partners were employed in the City, they were acquiring rental properties as part of their long term pension plan.
When the buy to let market began to mature in the late 1990s, the partners decided a “Build to Let” scheme to maintain margin. With this change in strategy, Mahesh left employment in 2001 and founded Jenga, to further expand the ‘Build to let’ strategy.
Strengths
For over 18 years, the Group has been acquiring property. In the last 15 years, the Group has obtained planning permission and developed many varied schemes, retaining the developed properties in their rental portfolio for long term hold.
Future
With a strong background in finance and property, the Group survived the property downturn, and is well positioned to grow substantially over the coming years.
