The swimming pool (which can be heated) is situated directly beside the apartments. Guests can soak themselves whilst enjoying the stunning views of orange and lemon groves set against a majestic backdrop of mountains and valleys. The golf course (18 holes, yardage 6532, Par 72, SSS: 71) opened in 1992. The designer, Folco Nardi, has created a course full of difficulties in which practically all the tee-offs pose complications, although the course as a whole is gentle. It is set among nine lakes and a large variety of fruit trees – orange, lemon and fig. The majority of the holes are set between rows of olive trees, creating an extremely picturesque setting.

mapThere are various water hazards, some of which have been strategically placed near the club house, protecting the greens of the 9th and 18th, the latter by a large lake. However all players seem to remember the par-three 4th, an unusual hole that incorporates a rugged hill, and that seen from the tee, the green seems much further away than it really is.. Lauro is nestled in a natural environment, at about 1,000 feet above sea-level, on a large estate with its own wells. Nearby are numerous other courses, including Alhaurin Golf (excellent course and very scenic – an absolute must), all within a short drive
